<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque detecting device with sufficient mechanical strength and superior workability suitable to mass-production, capable of measuring precise torque and preventing a damage problem in the case of heat treatment. <P>SOLUTION: The torque-detecting device is constituted of a part 3 to be detected for torque arranged on the surface layer of a steel torque-transmitting shaft 2, a detection coil 4 arranged facing the circumference thereof with non-contacting, and a detection signal processing means 5. The part 3 to be detected for the torque is the layer of a magnetic strain material layer consisting of an Al diffused layer which is diffused in the steel so that Al concentration gradually dilutes from a shaft surface to the center direction thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
