摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine for eliminating harmful components stored in or collected by an exhaust emission control unit with high responsiveness and high precision. <P>SOLUTION: Temperature of exhaust to be discharged from a combustion chamber when storage type NOx catalyst (exhaust emission control unit) reaches prescribed high temperature T1 as target catalyst temperature is set as basic discharge temperature (B32). Difference between the prescribed high temperature T1 and temperature of storage type NOx catalyst detected by a second temperature sensor is added to the basic discharge temperature to set target discharge temperature of exhaust discharged from the combustion chamber (B34, B36, B38, and B40). Temperature control to the storage type NOx catalyst is conducted in such a way that the actual discharge temperature of exhaust discharged from the combustion chamber, and detected by a first temperature becomes the target discharge temperature (B42, B44, and B46). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
