<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent exerting displeasure onto a driver while starting a vehicle; to reduce fuel consumption when automatically restarting an engine. <P>SOLUTION: A transmission (AT) of a vehicle is capable of switching a neutral state (N) to a drive state (D) by learning switching time of stepping pedals by a driver. Time TA for switching from the N state to the D state is secured under the conditions by means of forward clutch switching(time t<SB>4</SB>-t<SB>5</SB>) of the AT based on the average value of a timer value T for learning. A demand for automatic stop of an engine is released (time t<SB>3</SB>), the engine is started, and a demand for switching the AT from the N state to the D state (TIME t<SB>4</SB>) is made. Starting and accelerated drive of the vehicle begin under this demand after the AT is switched from the N state to the D state (time t<SB>5</SB>-t<SB>6</SB>). Then, stepping-in operation for an acceleration pedal is carried out, and accelerating running of the vehicle is smoothly carried out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
