PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit EPG data of a wider range without decreasing the transmission capacity of a program. SOLUTION: An EPG data generating apparatus 309 generates EPG data EPG2 of an electronic program guide of a wider range, and a multiplexer 304-1 multiplexes these data with data of a promotion program which is generated by a promotion channel generating apparatus 302. Besides, multiplexers 304-2 to 304-8 for multiplexing ordinary programs are permitted to generate EPG data EPG1 of a narrower range by using the EPG data generating apparatus 309 to feed these data to the multiplexers 304-2 to 304-8 and to multiplex them.
