PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication apparatus capable of easily obtaining a more satisfactory radio environment by reducing influence on radio characteristics of an antenna by human body caused by a using state without inviting an increase in a circuit scale nor control complexity. SOLUTION: In this radio communication apparatus (portable communication terminal 1), an antenna 14 for voice speech communication is disposed at a lower part 12 of the housing of the terminal 1, and an antenna 13 for the other communication is disposed at an upper part 11 of the housing of the terminal 1. At the time of voice speech communication, a user has the terminal 1 on an ear by hand to perform speech communication. In such a case, since the upper part 11 of the housing of the terminal 1 is the closest to the head of the human body, the antenna 14 for voice speech communication disposed at the lower part 12 of the housing is used. Meanwhile, at the time of the other communication, such as TV telephone and mail communication, the user has the lower part 12 of the housing of the terminal 1 with a hand to operate the terminal 1.
