PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an event notification method and information equipment that can easily change displayed information and layout. SOLUTION: The event notification method, which notifies other equipment of event notification information on an event generated in the information equipment, has a first document creating step of creating a first document as a document according to specifications for the creation of the event notification information, a second document creating step of editing the first document according to a layout document defining the layout of the event notification information to create a second document, an event notification information creating step of creating the event notification information from the second document, and an event notifying step of notifying the equipment of the event notification information.
