PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and easily distinguish reduction and soft feeling of a tire. SOLUTION: A tire 1 loaded normally is run on the ground plane 21 of a pillar 10 having a side length X of 0.86% of the design diameter of the tire, the longest grounding length A in the peripheral direction of the ground plane 21, a center non-grounding length CR of the non-grounding part 20 and a shoulder non-grounding length SH of the non-grounding part 20 are measured, and the reduction and soft feeling of the tire are distinguished by the length ratios CR/A and SH/CR.
