PURPOSE: Suede type warp knit fabric is characterized by containing short piles, having high pile density, being thin and having excellent texture and appearance. A manufacturing method thereof has excellent workability. The warp knit fabric is useful for a woman's dress. CONSTITUTION: Suede type warp knit comprises: a surface structure planted piles comprised of polyester superfine yarn having 0.001-0.05denier of single yarn fineness; and a back structure comprised of spandex elastic yarn. The pile has length of 0.1-0.3mm. The suede type warp knit is obtained by the steps of: (i) feeding composite fiber comprised of a fiber-forming ingredient and an eluting ingredient as surface structure grey yarn; feeding the spandex elastic yarn as back structure grey yarn; knitting two-layered warp knit grey out of the yarns with a two-bars warp knitting machine; (ii) treating the warp knit fabric with an alkali aqueous solution to elute the eluting ingredient of the composite fiber, followed by dyeing and drying the warp knit fabric to make the knit fabric into at least 20% of final shrinkage in a width direction; and then (iii) buffing the warp knit fabric 2-10times.
