<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrode catalyst with a reaction site formed on a surface of a catalyst carrier at high density; and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: This electrode catalyst is obtained by adsorbing a catalyst constituent to inside walls of pores of a porous body, by introducing a carbon precursor into the pores, by carbonizing the carbon precursor by heating the porous body in an inactive atmosphere, by converting the catalyst constituent to an active point, and by removing the porous body. In this case, the porous body having pore diameters larger than those of the catalyst constituent and the carbon precursor is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
