<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating organic waste water by which activated sludge generated at the time when organic waste water is biologically subjected to sewage treatment can efficiently be killed. <P>SOLUTION: Organic waste water is biologically subjected to sewage treatment, so that activated sludge generated in sewage treatment is electrolyzed in an acid region in the presence of a salt. In the above treatment, the concentration of the salt in the treatment liquid is preferably controlled to 0.1 to 3.0 mass%, and the acid region in the treatment liquid is preferably controlled between pH 6 and pH 3.
