摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input-cross point buffer type switch capable of shortening an average delay time. <P>SOLUTION: An output scheduler prepared for each output port selects a cross point buffer having a cell from among cross point buffers storing cells addressing a self-output port, and outputs the head cell of the selected buffer. After that, the scheduler counts the number of buffers having cells among the cross point buffers storing cells addressing the self-output port, and updates a variable C managed by the cross point buffers storing the cells addressing self-output port to that number. Further, an input scheduler prepared for each input port outputs an cell to a cross point buffer having the maximum variable C and an idle buffer from among stored cells, on the basis of the idle capacity of the cross point buffer storing cells from a self-input port and the variable C managed by the cross point buffer.
