PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid volume detector having a mechanism substantially similar to conventional one for detecting a change of liquid volume in a wide range from the state of a tank filled with a liquid to its empty state even if the tank is narrow in width and high in height. SOLUTION: This liquid volume detector is equipped with a float lever 1 with a float 2 on its front end and a sensor 4 for detecting a turning angle, with the base end of the float lever 1 turnably connected to the sensor 4. The float lever 1 comprises an easy-to-bend member. The volume of the liquid is corrected by calculating operation time, fuel consumption, etc. when the level of the liquid is positioned in an intermediate region ranging from a B position to a D position where the float lever is bent.
