PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieving method for quickly finding cataloged merchandise information. SOLUTION: In this method, a merchandise catalog 20 is used which has a plurality of retrieval sheets 10 wherein an opening part 1 is formed at appropriate spots and advertising words 3 are entered in a space other than the opening parts 1 and a merchandise guiding surface 15. On the merchandise guiding surface 15, a merchandise introducing part 7 which is of the size corresponding to the opening part 11 of the retrieval sheet 10 and shows trade name, entry pages and the like. is provided.
