PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment method capable of easily and effectively removing an organic compound such as dioxins from water to be treated containing organic compounds. SOLUTION: The water treatment method comprises a process of adding a water-soluble carbon material to the water to be treated and a process of adding a flocculant to the water to be treated having the added water-soluble carbon material. Usually, the water treatment method further comprises a process of removing flocculate produced by adding the flocculant.
