A personal game stage is presented to the player by increasing the varieties of the game stage. The player plays a game after selecting one of a plurality of game stages such as a tennis court. For this play, there are formed an image for the player to select one game stage from the game stages, and an image for the player to play with another player on the selected game stage. Further formed is an image for arranging on the game stage the items which are acquired during the play. This enables the player to have the game stage on which the items are arranged as player's personal one and to enjoy the game on the game stage. An item belonging to the other player may desirably be taken and transmitted by using an IC card or communication lines.
