The positioning device includes a scanner head (22) having scanning sides that center the scanner head on the upper thigh neck bone (14) in two directions, so that the boring axis (40) and the central longitudinal axis join together as one. The scanning sides extend transverse to the boring axis. The guide (12) is used for guiding a wire (13) which marks the boring axis.
