PRODUCTION OF CHITOSAN-CONTAINING SALT LOWERING BLOOD PRESSURE BY SPRAYING CHITOSAN SOLUTIONS ON SALT PARTICLES WITHOUT RECRYSTALLIZATION PROCESS

PURPOSE: A method of producing salt containing chitosan by spraying chitosan solution on salt particles without a recrystallization process is provided. It is simple as compared to prior manufacturing methods and commercially mass produces salt containing chitosan and remarkably reduces the cost of production while producing uniform quality of products. CONSTITUTION: Acid-soluble chitosan is dissolved in organic acid, or water-soluble chitosan derivatives are dissolved in water. Then, the chitosan solution is sprayed on salt having a size of 10 to 50 to meshes and then dried to give salt containing 1.5 to 5% by weight of the chitosan or chitosan derivatives. The chitosan is α-chitosan or β-chitosan having a molecular weight of 10,000 to 100,000. The organic acid is lactic acid, acetic acid or ascorbic acid. The salt is sea salt, refined salt or rock salt.
