PLANAR DIPOLE ANTENNA HAVING WIDE BAND CHARACTERISTICS SERVING AS RECEPTOR FOR SIGNALS IN VARIOUS FREQUENCY RANGES

PURPOSE: A planar dipole antenna having wide band characteristics is provided to serve various services such as a PCS(Personal Communication System) and a WLAN(Wide Local Area Network) in a frequency range of 1.5 through 6.3GHz by using only one antenna element. CONSTITUTION: A planar dipole antenna includes a planar antenna arm and a taper portion. The taper portion includes a dipole arm a portion of which is cut. A width(Wd) of the dipole arm is 1.3 through 1.8 times the length of the dipole arm(Ld). A width(Twd) of the taper portion is 12 through 48% of the width of the dipole arm. A length(TLd) of the taper portion is 7 through 52% of the length of the dipole arm.
