PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fluophor screen with a large area and uniform thickness of fluophor layer. SOLUTION: In a vacuum chamber 1, vapor flow 16 of evaporation material 4 is evaporated on a flexible sheet 5 continuously or discontinuously moving in the arrow direction supported by a cooled support roller 6. The flexible sheet 5 is heated by an infrared heater 9 and a reflection cage 10. A heat resistive coil spring 8 thermally insulates the support roller 6 and the flexible sheet 5 and connects two ends of the flexible sheet 5. A metal raster 14 avoids formation of uneven part of the evaporation layer and a cooled baffle 17 moves and controls the exposure range of vapor flow 16. As irreversibly deformable vapor layer support body is selected before, in the middle and after evaporation process, the flexible sheet 5 is made in a wave state and a long fluorescent screen is obtained.
