PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently operate Rankine cycle by preventing deterioration of pump efficiency of a liquid pump. SOLUTION: A sucked coolant is cooled by a vapor compression type refrigerator before actually starting the Rankine cycle. Consequently, coolant sucked by a liquid pump 32 is surely used as a liquid coolant and degree of super cooling can be increased. Since the sucked coolant is surely prevented from evaporating (boiling) on a suction side of the liquid pump 32, deterioration of pump efficiency of the liquid pump is prevented and the Rankine cycle can be operated efficiently.
