<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive electric toothbrush by attaining a linear actuator of cost reduction with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A cylindrical permanent magnet 2 of which the central axis almost matches with the central axis of a shaft 1, with both end faces in axial direction having different polarity, is attached around the shaft 1 supported for reciprocation in axial direction, constituting a moving member 3.
