PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for magnetic recording media capable of highly cleaning the surface of a glass substrate. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the magnetic recording media is used for the magnetic recording medium corresponding to a magnetoresistive head (MR head) or a giant magnetoresistive head (GMR head). In the method, a rotating brush 4 having brush hair spirally transplanted onto a rotary shaft polishes the inner circumferential end face and/or outer one of the disk-like glass substrate (MD substrate 1) having a circle hole at the center section by using a polishing liquid containing loose abrasives.
