PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a biaxially oriented polyester film which is excellent in a flame retardance and has good hydrolysis resistance. SOLUTION: This biaxially oriented polyester film is the one comprising at least a polyester and a polyimide as constitutive components, has a combustion index of film less than 125, and preferably contains a flame retardant, in particular a phosphoric ester-based flame retardant.
