PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display wherein increase of power consumption is prevented by eliminating addition of a special circuit and generation of flicker is suppressed without reducing charging time of a liquid crystal. SOLUTION: In an active matrix type liquid crystal display, first and second driving circuits which can output scanning signals and drive scanning signal lines are provided in the vicinity of side end parts of facing both sides of a liquid crystal display panel so as to sandwich the liquid crystal display panel and the first and the second driving circuits alternately drive a thin film transistor element for every one frame by alternately outputting the scanning signals for driving the same n-th scanning signal line for every one frame.
