PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow right and left turn of a vehicle body in the stopped condition by providing a vehicle body fixed-position turning mechanism on a bi-axial output continuously variable transmission for giving a proper rotational difference within a safety turning limit between right and left driving wheels when turning a powered wheelchair. SOLUTION: The bi-axial output continuously variable transmission is used for travelling turn of the powered wheelchair with one driving motor while keeping the rotational difference between the right and left driving wheels to a required minimum. Thus, the right and left turn of the vehicle body in the stopped condition is allowed by the vehicle body fixed-position turning mechanism while securing safety travel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
