PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an addition curing type silicone rubber composition having a low viscosity, high tearing properties, a slight change in viscosity with time and excellent pot life after mixing. SOLUTION: The addition curing type silicone rubber composition comprising (A) an addition curing type organopolysiloxane component and (B) a reinforcing silica is produced. In this case, there is provided a step of compounding an organopolysiloxane base polymer in the component (A) with the component (B), heating the resultant material, preparing a silicone rubber compound, then cooling and reheating the prepared silicone rubber compound.
