PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform simple and superior heat insulation in a refrigerator by using a heat insulating material having high heat insulating performance and superior handling property. SOLUTION: The composite heat insulating material A of aerogel and a fiber structure is formed by giving supercritical drying to the fiber structure immersed in an aerogel precursor to generate the aerogel. It is pasted on the inner wall face of the refrigerator, for example, on the inner face of a door 16. The heat insulating materials A are mounted on the wall faces of storage containers 30, 32, 34 and a duct 28 and inside or on the surfaces of a damper 50 and a partition wall 54.
