PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a new antibacterial agent to methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), particularly, to provide a polyacid which has lower toxicity to the human body and higher anti-MRSA effect compared with previously developed polyacid, and further has higher synergistic effect with aβ-lactam antibiotic. SOLUTION: A compound having the general formula (1) of X<SB>17</SB>[M<SB>6</SB>(H<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>2</SB>(AsW<SB>6</SB>O<SB>26</SB>)(AsW<SB>9</SB>O<SB>34</SB>)<SB>2</SB>]-YH<SB>2</SB>O (wherein, X is a cation; M is the same or two or or more kinds of metallic elements selected from the group consisting of Mn, Co and Zn; and Y is an integer of 0 to 50) is provided. The agent comprises the compound as effective components.
