PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device in which the performance of the device is not deteriorated without deteriorating a head-off-track property, even if erase-band asymmetry is caused by a skew angle. SOLUTION: As an outer periphery side adjacent track makes a self track hard to erase at a spot at which an inner periphery side erase-band is larger than an outer periphery side erase-band, a write-inhibit-slice vale for offset to an inner periphery side is made smaller than a write-inhibit-slice value for offset to an outer periphery side. Also, at a spot at which the outer periphery side erase-band is larger than the inner periphery side erase-band, correspondence is made by reading reversely meaning of the inner periphery and the outer periphery.
