PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an idling part for biting prevention to the power output shaft of a driving source for lens holder and to make the whole mechanism small-sized. SOLUTION: This lens driving mechanism is equipped with a three-group frame 7 having a bearing part which holds a lens L and supports a guide shaft for movement of the lens L in an optical axis direction, a driving mechanism having a lead screw 15a where a screw part 15b with which a nut 16 engages is formed and a stepping motor 15 rotating it, an arm 17 which extends from the three-group frame 7, has its tip adjacently to the nut 16 of the driving mechanism, and moves the three-group frame 7 by the movement of the nut 16, a spring 9 which energizes the tip of the arm 17 toward the nut 16, and the idling part 15c which is provided at the end of the lead screw 15a of the driving mechanism only on the side where the arm 17 is arranged for the nut 16 and has such a shaft diameter that the nut 16 is not engaged with it.
