PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tensile material for cable that prevents expansion in cable making and that improves adhesiveness to a sheath material, and its manufacturing method . SOLUTION: In a linear tensile material 12 that is imbedded in the sheath material 13 of a cable, on the outer surface of a core material 12a for which a fiber is covered with a thermosetting resin, there is installed at least one kind of film 12b selected from an ethylene based elastomer, ethylene vinylacetate copolymer, and ethylene methacrylic acid copolymer or its ionomer resin. The core material 12a having a tensile effect is put through a water-dispersion solution of a polyolefine based resin, and then dried to form the film 12b on the outer surface.
