PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zipper applicator which can fit a zipper to a soft packaging material accurately and efficiently while preventing the occurrence of wrinkles and sagging. SOLUTION: The zipper 4A is held at a regular pitch by an endless belt 28 which intermittently drives a plurality of clamp carriers 24 clamping/holding almost the entire length of the zipper 4A. While one clamp carrier 24 is made to wait at a zipper receiving position P, the continuous tip part of the zipper is fed by a zipper feeder 40. The zipper is cut by a cutter 45 to obtain the zipper of a prescribed length. It is clamped by the clamp carrier 24, and the clamp carrier is sent to a zipper welding position Q. The zipper 4A is welded to the soft packaging material 2 by a sealing device 55. Simultaneously, the next zipper is supplied/held to/by the succeeding clamp carrier 24. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
