PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detent device for preventing fixture of a bolt head and a nut to each other when a bolt and the nut are thread-fastened to each other or when the bolt head or the nut is inhibited from rotation. SOLUTION: When the bolt B is rotated by a runner device R to be thread-fastened to the nut N, corotation, i.e. rotation of the nut N together with the rotation of the bolt B, can occur due to a gap formed between a recess 20c of a socket member 20 of the detent device and the nut N, resulting in a bite of an angular portion of the nut N into the recess 20c and digging by the former into the latter. However when a bracket member 30 of the detent device is moved upward to release fitting of the bracket member 30 and the socket member 20 to each other, the socket member 20 is made rotatable about a bolt axis (in a direction indicated by an arrowβ). Therefore even if the angular portion of the nut N bites into the recess 20c, the socket member 20 is easily released from the nut N only by slight rotation of the socket member 20 at the time of an upward movement of the same.
