PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chuck for holding a small diameter tool, capable of chucking a plurality of small diameter tools different in shank length, by a taper collet and an adaptor of the same kind. SOLUTION: A bevel gear 16 rotated following the rotation of a driving bevel pinion 15 provided at a holder body 12 is provided with a cylindrical boss part 161 rotatably fitted to a cylindrical part 133 of the adaptor 13. An internal screw part 162 with which an external screw part 142 of the taper collet 14 is screwed, is formed on the inner peripheral surface of the boss part 161, and in a state of screwing the external screw part 142 of the taper collet 14 with the internal screw part 162, the driving bevel pinion 15 is rotationally operated to rotate the bevel gear 16.
