PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and equipment for hot finish rolling which essentially aim at making the manufacture of a high-strength and high-toughness steel materials possible and realize productivity corresponding to equipment investment in addition. SOLUTION: This hot finish rolling equipment 1 is provided with one two-way drive type rolling mill 2, a cooling devices 3 which are installed on the upstream side and the downstream side of the mill, a drive controller for driving the two-way drive type rolling mill 2 forward and backward and a reduction controller by which the rear end part of a steel strip S is formed into a taper shape by reducing that part excessively.
