The invention relates to a gripper element for a part, said element comprising a layered structure associating elements which are successively translationally displaceable, whereby a longitudinal beam (1) acting as a carrier for transversal arms (2) bearing a retaining head (3) supporting a retaining element (4). The transversal arms (2) are articulated in relation to the plane P of translational mobility along the longitudinal beam (1) in order to adjust the individual position of the retaining elements (4) such that the overal cubic measurements of the gripper element is reduced in relation to the overall extension surface covering the part to be retained despite a faculty offered as a result of a consequent gap between the retaining elements (4) in relation to the plan of mobility of the transversal arm (2).
