The snap ring (10) has a body (12) having an outer body diameter and formed with a slot (18) that is defined by two ring ends (20,22). The outer body diameter exceeds the diameter of the retaining feature of a cylindrical body when the ring body is deflected such that the ring end (20) is abutted against the ring end (22). An Independent claim is also included for a method of installing snap ring inside cylindrical cavity.
