<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectral anisotropic light scattering film which can improve a color viewing angle characteristics without damaging other characteristics such as contrast and viewing angles. <P>SOLUTION: The spectral anisotropic light scattering film includes a spectral anisotropic scattering layer composed of a continuous phase consisting of translucent resin and a dispersed phase of which the aspect ratio is 2 to 20, and the difference of the refractive indices between the continuous phase and the dispersed phase is 0.03 to 0.30. The azimuth angle θ in an arbitrary scattering plane of a film surface, the scattered light intensity Fx(λ, θ) of an incident light wavelength λ, an azimuth angle θ in a scattering plane orthogonal with the scattering plane and a scattered light intensity Fy(λ, θ) of the incident light wavelength λ satisfy the following inequalities of (1) Fx(435, θ)/Fx(λ, θ)≥1.2 and (2) [Fx(435, θ)/Fx(λ, θ)-Fy(435, θ)/Fy(λ, θ)]≥0.1, wherein λ=545 or 610nm and θis an arbitrary angle being selected from 30 to 70°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
