SWING DAMPING DEVICE OF PENDULUM TYPE STRUCTURE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swing damping device of ball rolling type for a pendulum type structure exerting a sufficient damping effect irrespective of the swinging direction.

SOLUTION: The swing damping device of ball rolling type is structured so that balls 4 capable of rolling on a rolling raceway in the form of a circular arc or a spherical surface are accommodated in a casing 2 having such a raceway, wherein the mass ratio R and the mounting position ratioγof the balls 4 are decided so that the balls 4 meet the optimum natural frequency ratioνoptexpressed by Formula (8) for the natural frequency of the pendulum motions of a swing damping system including the pendulum type structure and the casing 2.
