PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustor with a heat shielding means at the lower part of a top panel for suppressing the temperature rise of the top panel, preventing the risks of burns due to the temperature rise of a guard body opposed to the heat shielding means. SOLUTION: A combustion part is provided in a frame body 1 whose front face is open, and the heat shielding means 10 is provided between the combustion part and the top panel 5 on the upper face of the frame body 1 for suppressing the temperature rise of the top panel 5. The guard body 4 consists of a plurality of rods covering the front face opening portion. A heat shielding guard rod 13 opposed to the heat shielding means 10 of the guard body 4 is provided on the inside or outside of the other guard rod, not flush therewith. When located on the inside, it has a high temperature but gives no risks of burns due to careless touch because it is not flush with the other guard rod.
