PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a header structure for a heat exchanger, improving the performance of mutual close contact of the mating surfaces of first and second tank members constituting a header. SOLUTION: A pawl piece 6 of the second tank member 4 is turned around to the back of the first tank member 3, when caulked thereto. The fastening force operates in the direction of pressing the mating surfaces of the first and second tank members 3, 4 and the pawl piece 6 is caulked while being bent lapping on inclined faces 9 on both sides of the back of the first tank member 3. Thus, the spring back of the pawl piece 6 is restricted to be improvable the performance of mutual close contact of the mating surfaces of the first and second tank members 3, 4.
