PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a polymer particle wherein the manufacturing yield and CV value (standard deviation (μm) of microparticle) of the particle size are improved through inhibition of coalescence or aggregation of a seed particle at manufacturing of a polymer such as a polyorganosiloxane particle used as a spacer for a liquid crystal display device or as a standard particle. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method for the polymer particle, a monomer having an alkoxyl group and/or a hydroxyl group is reacted in the presence of a catalyst to form the seed particle. Then, an aqueous solution containing the monomer or its hydrolysate is added to the seed particle to grow the seed particle.
