PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a sporangium of a bacterium belonging to Bacillus popilliae containing spores and parasporal bodies and exhibiting excellent controlling effects on larvae of insects of the family Scarabaeidae with high productivity. SOLUTION: The method for producing the sporangium containing the spores and parasporal bodies of the bacterium belonging to the Bacillus popilliae necessary to effectively control the larvae of the insects of the family Scarabaeidae is to culture the bacterium belonging to the Bacillus popilliae in a culture medium and produce the sporangium. The method for producing the sporangium containing the spores and parasporal bodies of the bacterium belonging to the Bacillus popilliae comprises culturing the bacterium in the culture medium containing 50-100 ppm of magnesium and 10-40 ppm of manganese or 50-100 ppm of calcium.
