METHOD FOR MANAGING UPLINK SCRAMBLING CODES IN WCDMA

A method for managing uplink scrambling codes in WCDMA is provided, comprising: assigning a prescribed number of uplink scrambling codes to PRACH and PCPCH channels; allocating uplink codes to each RNC based on planned capacity of each RNC; said each RNC manages the uplink codes allocated. The method of managing uplink scrambling codes proposed by the present invention can prevent the collisions for allocating the same scrambling code to different UEs when the RNCs relocate the UEs, and particularly for geographically adjecent cells controlled by different RNCs, solve the problem associated with the collisions of uplink scrambling codes because of non-planning of the management of the uplink scrambling codes.
