PURPOSE: A system and method for providing an ICS(Incoming Call Screening) service in an asynchronous IMT-2000 network is provided to eliminate the inconvenience of talking over the telephone with an undesired caller by limiting a call connection with the undesired caller's mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A system for restricting a call connection request transmitted from an undesired caller's mobile terminal(11) comprises a calling-side MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(41), an HLR(Home Location Register)(50), a called-side MSC(42), an ICS server(90), and a VMS(Voice Message Service)(60). The calling-side MSC(41) requests the location information of a called mobile terminal(12). The HLR(50) confirms whether the called mobile terminal(12) has joined an ICS service. The called-side MSC(42) grasps the location of the called mobile terminal(12). The ICS server(90) receives an incoming call screening list from the called mobile terminal(12) and constructs a database. If a confirmation request for an incoming call screening object is received from the HLR(50), the ICS server(90) searches the database and transmits a result to the HLR(50).
