PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the quantity of liquid being used for recovery operation by preventing unnecessary air from being entrained into a liquid supply passage at the time of replacing a liquid container. SOLUTION: An ink tank 1 has a port 5 for supplying ink to the outside, and a chamber 2 for containing a negative pressure generating member 3 which can hold ink internally. A body 6 pressed against the negative pressure generating member 3 is provided in the ink supply port 5. A tube 8 coupled with the ink supply port 5 of the ink tank 1 and supplying ink to a liquid ejection head (not shown) has an end face being inserted into the ink supply port 5 and abutted against the press contact body 6 and a filter 12 is provided in an inner ink supply passage 9 at a position spaced apart from the end face. The ink supply tube 8 is further provided with an ink reservoir 10 having a variable inner volume and communicating with the liquid supply passage 9 at a position closer to the liquid ejection head than a filter 7. |
