Transport apparatus for cars

The container (1) has a supporting unit with load carrying columns with respective corrugations of side walls and a number of trays (34). Each tray receives either front or rear wheels of cars (44, 46). The trays have latching unit adapted to latch the trays to load carrying columns on opposite side of the container at any one of a range of possible latching positions at different heights on the columns. An independent claim is also included for a method for supporting cars in a freight container.
