Image detector for bank notes

The detector has a charge coupled device (CCD) sensor (24X) to detect lights of different wavelength transmitted through a bank note on a bank note transportation path, from two LEDs (27X,31X). The LED (31X) is placed opposite to the sensor and the LED (27X) on the same side of the sensor. A CCD sensor (24Y) detects the light that is transmitted through the note from a LED (27Y) placed on same side of the sensor (24Y).
