Triggering a path searcher

The method involves estimating individual delay and a magnitude of each individual multipath component. A change detector (14) detects changes in the magnitude for which the individual delay and the magnitude are currently estimated. A path searcher (11) triggers a search for new multipath components based on the change in the magnitude of any one of the currently estimated individual multipath components. An independent claim is also included for a receiver for detecting multipath components in a time-varying fading radio channel.
