Compact optical microcable

摘要

The microcable has a single buffer tube (4) holding a number of optical fibers (5), and a layer of strength units (6) stranded around the buffer tube. The buffer tube has a diameter greater than the cables cross section. The strength units e.g. glass yarns or fibers are bonded together and attached to an outermost common cable jacket (8) by a thin layer of adhesive (7) e.g. hot melt adhesive.
